  • Dogs are not allowed between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, from the third Saturday in June through Labor Day
  • Dogs are allowed from the day after Labor Day through the third Friday in June.
  • Pets are not allowed in areas protected due to plovers nesting.

How to get a beach sticker in Truro, Mass.

Town beach parking stickers (weekly or seasonal) are available at the town of Truro website. You can also purchase daily passes at the entrance of Corn Hill and Head of the Meadow beaches.

The National Seashore side of Head of the Meadow beach sells daily and seasonal passes. Seasonal passes are good at all seashore beaches and are a great deal!

Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro is the least crowded of the cape cod national seashore beaches.

Are dogs allowed on Truro town beaches in the summertime?

Dogs are not allowed on the town beaches during the summer unless it’s before 9am or after 6pm.

Are dogs allowed on national seashore beaches in Truro?

Dogs are allowed on some National Seashore beaches in the summer, but usually Head of the Meadow is restricted to pets. Try Herring Cove beach nearby if you want a nice beach to visit with your pet in the summer.

Are there any off-leash dog beaches in Truro?

No, Truro requires dogs to be on a leash when they’re allowed on the public beaches, on both town-owned and national seashore beaches.

Does Truro have ORV driving trails?

Coast Guard Road Beach has an oversand driving trail that is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, but it’s only for nighttime fishing and is almost always closed.

How do I get a permit to drive on Cape Cod National Seashore beaches?

Oversand driving permits are available at Race Point Beach in provincetown. They’re good for Race Point, and sometimes High Head, Coast Guard Road, and Head of the Meadow.

Many beaches now have signs warning of dangers from great white sharks on cape cod.

Are there sharks on truro beaches?

Yes. There are lots of seals and sharks on beaches in truro that are facing the open Atlantic Ocean.

You’re less likely to spot a great white shark in Cape Cod Bay, but they’re still there. 

While the risk of getting bitten is low, there is still a risk.
