The Port
541 Main Street (Route 28), Harwich Port
(508) 430-5410
The Port is an upscale eatery with several sections that allow pets. There’s a few tiny tables out front where you can eat with your dog. And there’s another section out back that’s outside where you can do the same.
They have dollar oysters starting mid-afternoon. But by the time you total up the drinks you may find your dollar oysters just cost you a lot more than you saved on the oysters. Still a good time. Party time for the younger crowd at night, gets a bit rowdy.
Scribano’s Italian Market & Deli
302 Main Street (Route 28), Harwich Port
(774) 408-7701
Scribano’s is a small Italian Deli in Harwich Port. Check out the prosciutto sandwich, it’s a salty treat that makes dogs drool while you eat it. Throw them a few scraps of prosciutto fat and you’ll have one happy dog at your feet. It’s our vote for best prosciutto sandwich on cape cod.
Technically dogs aren’t allowed inside, so your pet will have to wait at one of the outdoor tables. The people who work here are super nice and will bring it out to you when it’s ready.

Dog-friendly beaches on cape cod
There are lots of dog-friendly beaches on cape cod, but Harwich doesn’t allow pets on the public beaches during the summertime. Keep this in mind when planning day trips to the beach. you’ll need to wait for the offseason, or drive further a bit to find beaches with summertime pet access.
If you’re staying in this area with your dog, plan to take a day trip to visit at least one of the beaches of the cape cod national seashore. the national seashore allows dogs all summer long… unless access gets restricted by nesting piping plovers, which seems to start a bit earlier and last a bit longer every year.
check the national seashore site’s pets page for updates on that. There are pet-friendly dining options nearby all of the national seashore beaches if you’re making the road trip from Eastham.
