Many a landlubber has passed The Seafood Shanty on their ride home off-cape. It’s an outdoor clam shack located on the mainland side before you cross the canal on route 6, between the Bourne and Sagamore bridges.
It can get pretty busy on the highway, especially Sunday nights around sundown. use caution pulling in and out when traffic is busy or you’ll put a dent in more than just some fried clams.

About the Town of Bourne
The town of Bourne is the first town you’ll visit as you cross over the bridges to enter cape cod.
There are only a few Bourne restaurants that allow dogs. But you can always continue driving on route 6 for more pet-friendly dining options.
You can always order takeout food and and head to a beach or scenic location for a nice picnic. beaches in Bourne don’t allow pets in the summertime, but there are other beaches on the cape that do if you’re willing to drive a bit.
